Meet Christi Olson
My name is Christi Olson. I have been in the travel business most of my life. Starting out at travel school after high school in Kissimmee Florida, to working for a rental car call center, to working in a Hotel, and finally as a Certified Travel Agent. For many years, I worked in a traditional “brick and mortar” office for a large company. I loved my job! As the only Agent in a small local office I faced many challenges from day one, not having a client to my name, to selling over 1.5 Million on my own 8 years later.
As many of you know, for many different reasons, life can change in the blink of an eye. The COVID – 19 Pandemic hits. Everything I worked so hard for was gone. I found myself in a position where I had to rebuild my business and the uncertainty of when travel would come back was terrifying. I had been thinking about branching out on my own before that, but the thought of leaving my Million Dollar business was not worth the risk to me at the time.
As time went on, the pressure and demands of “Corporate America” were becoming more than what I could handle. I did love my job, but the job I loved was no longer there. Expectations changed, directives were established that took me away from my love of selling travel, and I could not help but think that now might be the right time to “jump”.
With the encouragement of my long-time love, Dale, and many of my closest friends and family, Hey Hey Vacay Travel Consultants, LLC was born.
Although I book any type of travel, my love is Luxury Travel. I have had the opportunity to study and become certified in that market. I have also traveled to many Sandals resorts and look forward to going to more venues and cruises in that niche.
On a personal note, I am a Mother of 2 wonderful children, Hanna (who gets full credit for suggesting the Hey Hey Vacay name), and Trenton. I also have 1 Granddaughter, Hadlee. My extended family includes my long-time love Dale, his 4 children and 5 grandchildren, all who I love as if they were my own. Together, we have a home on Lake Wausau and enjoy spending time on our boat in the summertime and snowmobiling in the wintertime when we are not traveling of course! lol
